The First Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Opens Up The Multiverse

Heads up: there will be spoilers for Spider-Man: FarFromHome and Avengers: Endgame.

After almost a year of rumors, fake titles, a trailer leak, and numerous theory videos on YouTube, the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is finally here. And guess what? It confirms everything we thought, plus some.

The last time we saw Peter Parker (Tom Holland), he was dealing with the aftermath of his late mentor, Tony Stark snapping half of the universe back into existence. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal) used this to his advantage and spent the final minutes of the film revealing Spider-Man's identity to the world via The Daily Bugle's J. Jonah Jameson (with J.K. Simmons returning) and managed to frame Peter for all the things Beck did in that film.

Wanting to fix things, Peter heads on down to Bleeker Street to pay Doctor Strange a visit to see if he can do anything to make sure the world forgets his secret identity but ends up getting himself into much more of a fight than he'd bargained for.

I won't spoil the trailer, but it would seem that No Way Home looks to open up the multiverse, like Loki, What If...? and other Phase 4 films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will also explore, such as the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, In the Multiverse of Madness.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is directed by Jon Watts, stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Zendaya as Mary Jane Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. The film is currently set to release in theaters on December 17.
