Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Swings onto Digital on August 29th

More than a month after Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hit theaters worldwide, the official digital release date has been announced by Disney themselves. The fifth and supposedly final entry for Indiana Jones follows him in a brand new adventure alongside his goddaughter Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) as they try to prevent one of Archimedes' inventions from falling into the hands of Dr. Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen).

Releasing on Tuesday, August 29th, on all major digital retailers, including Prime Video, Apple TV, and Vudu, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will feature five behind-the-scenes that cover the making of the film.

I inquired about a physical release to address concerns about not being able to purchase Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. I was told that the film's physical release date is not currently set.

I would be remiss without pointing out that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was one of the most expensive movies (#35 adjusted for inflation, tied with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the #12 spot unadjusted) with a budget of $295 million, and that's before publicity costs. So, it's not lost on me that the delay in announcing the film's physical release is likely a tactic Disney is employing to drive digital sales before dropping it on Disney+ later this year.

Speaking of, if you're waiting to see this on Disney+, I'd wager you'll be waiting a while for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Thinking logically, I would say the movie will drop on Disney+ sometime in October. September will likely be packed with The Little Mermaid swimming to the service on September 6th and Elemental floating on sometime in late September, so October is my best guess. If I had to put a window on it, I'd say early October. Disney is likely keen on getting Haunted Mansion out on digital as close to Halloween as possible to capitalize on the only mainline horror film the studio has for the year and wouldn't want Dr. Jones stealing that film's thunder.

Below are the details for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny's digital release, along with tech specs.
